Now, I practice something that’s completely transformed my approach to high-stress situations. As I packed and prepped my cabin, I repeatedly told myself, “Great job, Virio! You’ve got this. Look at you go!” Even when it took way longer than I expected, I kept the positive affirmations flowing, and it made all the difference.
The secret behind this? Calming your parasympathetic nervous system. When you slow down and praise yourself, your body can relax instead of going into fight-or-flight mode. It works, and it works wonders.
